I paint what appeals to me and change my working method to suit the subject matter. Currently I am enjoying making monoprints using a gelatin plate, I then use those prints to make my collage paintings. This work is very meditative and involves a lot of problem solving which stimulates me and keeps me in my painting zone. Melanie, this thought-inducing scene' few basic colors is anything but 'limited' in its effect! You might say "the trees are alive with the sounds of thinking..." Words fail me in trying to describe the Sendak-like quality of those branches...
Melanie Harman replied:
Joseph, I always enjoy your thoughtful comments, I suppose this could be a place "where the wild things grow".
